Activity Credit for Speech and Debate
All Sage Ridge students must earn six activity credits by the end of their senior year. An activity credit can be earned by playing one season
of a sport, working on a major play production, or through competition at Speech and Debate tournaments.
One activity credit: THREE tournaments
Two activity credits: FOUR tournaments
Three activity credits: FIVE tournaments
We don't want debaters showing up at tournaments unprepared, so to earn credit for a tournament you must rehearse your event for a minimum of two hours. You can log these hours at break, lunch, or after school. These two hours are for REHEARSAL of your event; researching your topic and writing your case must be done on your own prior to your rehearsals.
Practice time directly contributes to your speaking skills and tournament success, and is fun too.
